Two relationship types. Follow is one-way. Connect is mutual.

Follow

One-direction. You see the coach's activity in your feed. They get a notification. No approval needed.

  • Follow button on any profile creates the relationship.

  • Unfollow removes it.

  • Self-follow is blocked.

Connect

Mutual. Both sides accept the relationship. Like LinkedIn.

Send a request

Click Connect on a profile. The other coach gets a CONNECTION_REQUEST notification. Status: PENDING.

Limit: 5 pending outbound requests at a time. Wait for responses or withdraw old requests before sending more.

Accept or reject

When you receive a request, the notification panel shows Approve and Decline buttons. Decisions are immediate.

  • Approve → status ACCEPTED. Both sides can now see each other in connections.

  • Decline → status REJECTED. The request goes away.

Viewing connections

Profile → Connections shows three groups (only the owner sees pending):

  • Accepted — visible to everyone

  • Sent (pending) — owner only

  • Received (pending) — owner only

Connections preview

Click the connections count on any profile to open a dropdown with the 20 most recent accepted connections. Each shows avatar and handle.

Removing a connection

Profile → Connections → three-dot menu → Remove. Both sides lose access to the connection. The other side does not get notified.
